CHOCO carried out Hithevare workshop to train volunteers and communicate the importance of social work to the youth, on 3-4 January 2011. This program was supported by Huvadhoo Association for National Development (HAND) and Maldivian Red Crescent. The 2 day workshop was carried out at Misbahul Huda School of Thinadhoo. 47 potential volunteers participated and successfully completed the workshop.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mohamed Liraar, Senior Manager Operations and Sales of Dhiraagu. Furthermore the workshop was addressed by the Program Officer of HAND, Ibrahim Ahmed. Lectures and activities were provided on volunteerism, team building, leadership and project/event planning and management by the coordinators. Hasan Abdulla from Choco, Nadha and Himya from Red Crescent coordinated the workshop segments.
Current Hithevare workshop is the second such workshop by Choco. First edition of Hithevare was run on August 2009, and it trained 32 active volunteers.
